Whether small or large, business will have a varied range of positions or teams within the business structure. Many businesses will have managers, general staff and perhaps supervisors.

Depending on the industry of the business and its modern award it falls under, these positions will affect how managers build rosters and allocate shifts. RosterElf allows business owners to customise and set their business’ positions.

By setting positions (along with sites) managers can fill each shift with the best qualified and best available staff for their specific site. RosterElf calls this the ‘perfect match’ and helps solve the problem of searching through your staff list and trying to select staff to fill in a shift.

Staff marked green means they are available and qualified to work the shift, staff highlighted in red means they are either already rostered on or are on leave. Staff highlighted grey means they are unavailable to work the shift.

Therefore, by setting up positions before rostering it is vital in organising your staff and able to roster your best staff on for every shift. Staff who have realised they actually can’t work the shift can request a shift swap and RosterElf will find a suitable replacement (one who is equally qualified and available) of which managers can approve the replacement.
