Leave types in RosterElf
When you request leave in RosterElf, you choose a leave type alongside your dates and reason. This article lists the standard leave types and explains how employers can add their own custom types.
1. Standard leave types
RosterElf includes these standard leave types by default:
- Annual leave — paid time off staff accrue for planned breaks and holidays.
- Personal leave — paid leave for illness or personal circumstances, including sick days.
- Parental leave — leave taken around the birth or adoption of a child.
- Unpaid leave — leave taken without pay, for absences that don’t draw on a paid leave balance.
2. Custom leave types
Beyond the standard types, your employer can configure additional custom leave types — for example, to match a specific award, enterprise agreement, or company policy. Once added, a custom type appears alongside the standard options whenever staff request leave.
