- Navigate to Integrations in your RosterElf account, select Xero, and authorise the connection using your Xero credentials. Import employees from Xero Payroll, map RosterElf pay categories to Xero pay items, then export approved timesheets to Xero draft pay runs with one click. Setup takes just minutes.
- After approving timesheets in RosterElf, navigate to the Payroll Export section and select the pay period. Review the hours, confirm the employee list, then click Export to send timesheet data directly to Xero. Hours, pay rates, and overtime sync automatically without manual entry.
- In payroll integration settings, map RosterElf pay categories (ordinary hours, overtime, unsociable hours allowances) to your Xero pay items. Different roles or pay structures can have different mappings. Once configured, timesheets export with the correct pay item codes for accurate payroll processing.
- If timesheets aren't syncing or employees are missing, first re-authorise the integration in RosterElf settings. Check that employees exist in both systems with matching details, verify pay item mappings are correct, and ensure your Xero subscription is active. Our support team can help diagnose specific errors.
- Yes, you can use RosterElf for rota management and time tracking without connecting to payroll. Timesheets can be exported as CSV files for manual import into any payroll system.
