How can I manage employee shift swap requests?

If the feature is activated on your RosterElf account, employees can request shift swaps up to 48 hours before their shift if due to commence.

Once a shift swap is requested, RosterElf will seek to find a replacement who is available and qualified for the position and then notify managers providing a way for them to approve or deny the change.

The manager dashboard provides a great way to easily stay on top of shift swap requests.

You will notice three tabs on this section - "Pending", "Waiting" and "Achieved".

Waiting Shift Swaps

The first tab displays "Waiting" shift swaps.

These are shift swap requested by employees which have yet to have a replacement found.

Pending Shift Swaps

The second tab, Pending, display shift swap requests where a replacement employee has been found.

This section will show, the current employee who has requested the shift swap as well as name of the replacement employee RosterElf has found who will take the shift pending you approval.

Mangers have the ability to decline these pending shift swaps by clicking the red "X" icon.

Archived Shift Swap

The third and final tab, Archived, display all the shift swap requests either in the past or that have been already approved or declined by management.

You will notice banners on these events with either approved or declined which represents if the change was approved and rosters were updated or if the shift swap change was declined.
